Frank Miller's Batman is just freakin awesome. The artwork is dated, but the story of an old, bitter Bruce Wayne donning the mantle of the Batman and coming out of retirement because he just can't let things be is too good. This graphic novel is really a study of obsession at its finest. It's hard not to feel anything but pity for Wayne on his first encounters with the criminal underworld at such a ripe old age, but the heroism of someone who's just had enough of the injustices and suffering of the world should serve as inspiration for so many timid sideline observers. A great piece of fiction.
