A kid's story if there ever was one, but it certainly appeals to the child in all of us. Bradbury manages to capture the very essence and feeling of the Halloween months for children in a spooky tale of friendship and sacrifice. While the history itself may be flawed, the sentiment is not, and the excitement of Halloween is perfectly preserved in this short story.
Bradbury has an uncanny ability to bring me back to my own childhood in ways that no other author can. A great, fun October read.
