I like big books.

Y: The Last Man, Vol. 1: Unmanned

Y: The Last Man, Vol. 1: Unmanned - Pia Guerra, José Marzán Jr., Brian K. Vaughan Breathtakingly original, well-written, witty, funny- this series starts off really strong. It may sound like some ridiculous fantasy with absolutely no moral or intellectual value to it, but seriously, what WOULD happen if you were the last man on earth? And for women, what would you do if there were no men on earth? What would the world be like?

Brian K. Vaughan definitely shows his imaginative side in his take on this post-apocalyptic fantasy. Some of it is what you would expect and contains a lot of adolescent wishful thinking, but Vaughan and crew are more than willing to poke fun at it. In this first volume, they've laid out a quest, and I can't wait to see where it ends up.
